Anna Texas is located in Collin County, North of the Dallas Metroplex. The population is now approximately 8,000 - 10,0000 according to the City of Allen website. The majority of residents in Allen have moved there within the last three years. In the past three year period, Anna has grown faster than any other city in Collin County. According to the 2000 census, Anna's population was just 1,225.
Anna has recently developed a police department and volunteer fire department. In 2007 Anna will complete development of Slater Creek Park with lighted ball fields, soccer fields, a skateboard park, tennis courts, trail, and other recreational facilities.
